Playa del Ingles is know for it's beach and nightlife and is the largest holiday complex in Spain along with Maspalomas and San Agustin. Playa del Ingles offers plenty of sun and fun, shopping malls and fast food restaurants. The resort was created in the 1960's and over time has become one of the more famous resorts throughout Europe.

Playa del Ingles although known for it's night life also has several very large commercial centres of which the largest is the Yumbo Centre (located next to the Tourism Office) and Kasbah (in Plaza del Teide). With in these shopping centres you will find all kinds of boutiques and shops which will satisfy any shopper.
If you are going on holiday to take in come cultural sites this is not the place for it. Through the day you will find just about everyone at the beach or shopping and once nightfall comes, discos and nightclubs jump into action until the early hours of the morning. Playa del Ingles is home to many bars and restaurants from around the world including English, German, Dutch and Scandinavian.
If you find temptation you can still visit the Templo Ecumenico de San Salvador, a church providing ecumenical services in three different languages.

Should you get bored of the beach there is also an attractive pedestrian promenade called the Paseo Costa Canaria. Along this promenade you will find tropical flora and luxurious villas. The walk way connects to Playa de las Burras which is located in the east and at the point where the protected land of the Maspalomas dunes begins.
Over all, Playa del Ingles is the place you will want to visit in gran Canaria if you like to drink, stay out late and have as much fun as possible.
If you are not going on holiday for this then it's advised you keep away from this tourist area and pick a place in gran Canaria which suits you better.
